Marcline the Vampire Queen perched on her bed, entertaining herself with her Axe-Bass. She wasn't feeling as accustomed as before-or any other time before this.
"UGH! Come on! Get it right!" she yelled at herself for spoiling the song she was playing.
Dishearted over the mistake, she laid aside her instrument and speculated what was the cause of her recent odd behaviors. Normally, she could go by the day without notice but for the last month, she could hardly avoid a trance of thought. A shade of red would silence her hungers but recently she barely felt a tickle of starvation. Loneliness was all Marceline wanted as well. Lastly, she's acknowledged over the fact that she's been caring more over her appearence. Wearing only spotless clothes whenever she left her home.
The ring of her doorbell broke her train of thought.
Casually, she went to her lower floor and answered the entryway to find an out of breathe Finn. Somehow she felt glad to see her human friend.
"Mar.....celine... I got... you some.....thing" said Finn.
"Finn, you know I'm not into getting presents" replied Marceline.
"No...you'll like it....I swear. Close your eyes."
Knowing Finn well enough, the Vampire Queen did as her friend asked.
"Okay.... open 'em!" said a happy Finn.
Marceline's eyes grew wider as she recalled what Finn held in his hands. Hambo.
Slowly she took the old teddy bear. "How?" she asked.
"Ash. After gettin some info off him, I found the witch's hut and got it from her."
"But, witches never give up anything they own"
"Not when it's asked for by a hero!"
Filled with happiness, Marceline shed a tear of joy and hugged Finn tightly. Unable to stay longer, Finn retired from Marceline's house to continue his adventures.
Marceline looked at her childhood toy. Since her boyfriend Ash, sold it to a witch, she never thought would see it again.
"Wait..." she said to herself.
While she hugged Finn she felt a warmness in her and couldn't solve it. Once more, she peered at the toy, smelled it, to discover Finn's scent on it. Again the warmness came back but faded once Finn's scent was replaced by her own. Marceline then lay her hand on her chest.
"What is this feeling?"
